I've been a mortgage broker since 2013, and I'm the only person who'll work on your loan.
Why I work on my own
Mortgage Guy has no admin team, and that's deliberate. In many brokerages, the person you meet hands your file to a processor once you've signed up. Here, the person you speak to first does the work, all the way through.
I keep my client numbers small enough to handle every file myself. I know your situation without looking it up, and you never have to explain it twice.
My promise hasn't changed since I started: advice when you need it, not just when you ask for it.
How I got here
Mortgages run in my family. My father, John, spent decades as a mortgage broker, so interest rates were dinner-table conversation growing up. As a teenager I built a loan affordability calculator, and many brokers ended up using it.
After a degree in Maths and IT with a Dean's medal, I went into technical sales for IBM. I always treated sales as teaching: explaining something complicated until the customer could make their own decision. When I moved into broking in 2013, I found it was the same job.
I'm a husband and a father, and I'm based in Wollongong. Outside work, you'll mostly find me at hapkido or travelling.

Online meetings
Every meeting is by video, so you can talk to me from home or work, wherever you live.

A review every year
I check your loan each year to make sure the rate is still competitive and it still suits you.

Fees
Almost never. I've charged a fee only a couple of times in the last decade, and each time I said so upfront.
Qualifications and memberships: Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking), Bachelor of Maths & IT, member of the FBAA. Credit representative 443313 of Astute Financial Management Pty Ltd (Australian Credit Licence 364253).
